So here in MN we got several inches of snow. And, being the crazy Minnesotan that I am, I too ventured out during the middle of the storm. I wanted to get the girls some nice outfits to take a picture in for our holiday card. I also needed to pick up some food for dinner and some more snow gear for Annika. So, I headed out to Super Target. Gosh, I must have been nuts! There were so many people out and it was nasty outside. I mean cold, windy and snowy! Not a good combo. Well, Target didn't have anything picture worthy and all of their snowpants were like a 5T! So, I just got her some boots and new mittens.
While I was gone, Annika and Brian set up our tree so I could decorate it later with the girls. In the meantime, this is what the girls were doing:
A cute one of B before:
And after:
Bianca did not like the snow! But, Annika had a ball helping daddy shovel. She was a trooper, she stayed out the entire time, and let me tell you, it was freezing!
Later, while the girls were napping, I decorated the top half of the tree. I always save the bottom for the girls, and their plastic ornaments. Annika likes to decorate and un-decorate on a daily basis and I don't want the tree to be off limits to them. Just as long as they don't pull it down on top of themselves, I'm ok with them touching. What's the fun in Christmas if the tree is off limits? So, here they are helping with the tree:
Since I have given up on getting a decent picture of the girls together, this will be on our Christmas card. I'm hoping to order today!
Later last night, my sister and her husband came over for dinner. I made chicken enchiladas, mexican rice and corn bread. It was tasty. Then we settled in for some Guitar Hero. I know, we are dorks! All in all, we made the best of a snowy, icky day! Have a great rest of the weekend!
oh - those pictures are great! we got a ton of snow up here too - i'd say over a foot. glad to hear you made the best of the snow day.

I love the picture of the girls under the tree - it will make a great card! Bianca's hat is so cute - seeing her all bundled up reminded me of the younger brother in "The Christmas Story".
Too funny about Guitar Hero . . . Bennett is going to come out a rock star thanks to all your practicing!

Poor B. She doesn't look like she had much fun.
THat is a great idea about decorating the top half "nice" and leaving the bottom half for the girls. I like having a "theme" for a tree, but we have a ton of sentimental ornaments, too. You can't just not put them up.
Hope you had a great weekend. Sounds like you guys are addicted to guitar hero. Way too funny. :)
I'll write more tomorrow from work. :)
