what do you do at home with your kids to change it up so the days don't run together? planned activities, etc? Well, I'll be the first to admit that I used to be more creative when I only had 1 child. I do my best to keep busy though. We love going outside when we can, walks are big with us. We joined the Children's Museum and love going there. The girls spend a lot of time with their grandmas getting one on one time. We love reading stories and coloring. We have playgroup every friday and I joining the Mom's Club this week and will be starting music class and an art class. I know it doesn't sound like much, but we are rarely home and I like it that way!
what's your favorite memory from childhood if you chose just one?
Wow, this is a tough one. I'll limit this one to age 10. I would have to say my favorite memory is when my sister was born. I was 4 1/2 and couldn't wait to have a sister. I even got to name her and she still hates me for that to this day!
how is having three kids compared to having two?
So far, 3 kids versus 2 hasn't been to bad. Right now, Bennett sleeps a lot and doesn't require a whole lot of attention. He sleeps very well at night, so I'm not sleep deprived. I'm sure all this will change when he is awake more and mobile!
and... what's the one thing that you want your kids to know?
I hope that they will always know that we love them and will be there for them, regardless of the situation. My parents have always been there for us and would drop anything to help us. I just hope I can do the same for my kids.
This one is from Kim:
before you became a mommy, did you work outside the home, and if so, what did you do?
Before I became a mom, I worked for Wells Fargo Investments as an IRA specialist dealing with death and divorce. Super fun! NOT! After Annika was born, I began working as a preschool teacher at her daycare. Once she turned a year and I was preggo with B, I began to stay home.
and, did you always know you wanted to be a SAHM?
Yes, I always knew I would be a SAHM, it was just a matter of timing. Even in high school and college, I knew I would eventually be a mom. I don't regret my education (very expensive education) because I'm proud to be an educated woman and to set an example to my kids.
From Paula:
where did ms.annika get her beautiful red hair ?
The milk man :) Just kidding, not too sure but some of my cousins and Bri's cousins have red hair, so probably somewhere from there.
From Katja in Germany:
Have you ever travelled outside of the USA and if so, where have you been. If not, what would be your 3 Top-Destinations (you absolutely do not have to say Germany :-)
I have traveled outside of the U.S. although not far. I've been to Mexico a few times and Jamaica. That's it though, sadly enough. My top 3 destinations would be: Europe in general, I want to do a tour of it all at the same time! Switzerland. Greece or Italy. There are so many more places I want to go though, it's so hard to choose just 3!
From Amy:
Since I kind of already know you (relatively speaking), how do you find the time to do all this. You amaze me!
Well, I tend to ignore my kids while I blog and drink wine. Just kidding! I tend to find time during breakfast and naptime. Besides that, I don't have much time. Thanks Amy, I appreciate the compliment!
From Jenny:
what is your favorite thing to do for yourself?
Well, if I had time I would prefer to have massages done frequently. But, since there is no time, I think my favorite thing I do for myself is go to bed early. I appreciate my sleep and if I can get it I will take it!
what is your favorite color?
It depends what we are talking about. Decorating I tend to go with earth tones, clothes I go with black, a lot! My kids, pink and blue. Crayons, probably blue.
what kind of music do you listen to?
Hmmm, I like a lot of music but really dislike rap, heavy metal and alternative. Not a huge fan of country either, depends on the artist though.
And last but not least, from Robin:
Are any of the kid's named after someone and id so who and why?
We did not name our kids after anyone we know. Both Brian and I suggested Annika because we had heard it before and really liked it. We have had Bennett's name picked out since before Annika came, that was our boy name. Bianca was a name we both loved and it was also the only one we could agree on.
Now, middle names are a diff. story. Annika's middle name is Leigh, which is my middle name. Bianca's middle name is Michelle, which is my name (duh). Bennett's middle name is James, which is Brian's middle name, and his dad's name.
Well that was fun. Some of those questions were tough, but it got me thinking and that's a good thing! Thanks for playing!
